The chance of encountering other hikers is pretty good. Prospect Lake was part of the Upper Boulder Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout restoration effort and from 2007 to 2009 gill nets were used to remove rainbow trout. Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout were stocked until 2012 when they became self-sustaining. In 2015, 11 of the 36 fish sample was obtained by angling for 4 hours.

Directions Hike Up Trail #22 along Fourmile Creek from the USFS station. From Silver Lake follow the left fork of the inlet stream ~1 mile to prospect.
