Silver Run Wildlife Management Area

Silver Run
This WMA on the northeast edge of the Beartooths typifies the the ecological tranistion zone between the mountains and the more desert like environment to the east. The sage grassland provides winter range for elk and mule deer, while providing summer habitat for a wide range of bird species. All corners of this WMA can be reached by hiking. No vehicle access is permitted.
  1. Opens noon on May 15.Access is from parking lot located along west side of Hwy 212. No vehicle access is allowed. Pack your bear spray as both grizzlies and black bears are found on the WMA.
