Smith River Wildlife Management Area

Smith River
The Smith River WMA was purchased using sportsman's dollars to provide access to the Smith River and to protect upland winter range important to elk, mule deer, antelope, and other species. Visitors are welcome to drive the WMA's one road to the Fort Logan Fishing Access Site (located within the SRWMA) year round. Hiking, hunting, camping and other non-motorized activities are allowed on the remainder of the WMA when it is open to the public between May 15 and December 1.

 Description

  1. Opens noon on May 15. SEE TRAVEL PLAN MAP. There is only one road throughout the area - it is open year round to accommodate fishing access.

Directions:
Take route 360 northwest from White Sulphur Springs about 15 miles to Camp Baker/Smith River Road, the road turns to the north. Go north about 3 miles to the eastern entrance to the WMA.
