Directions: | Take the Axolotl Lake Road #42(located between Ennis and Virginia City) off of HWY 287. Travel on this road for about 4.3 miles and a short trail takes you to the lake. |
Status of the Fishery: | This lake contains wild self-sustaining populations of Rainbow Trout and Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout and hybrids. FWP last sampled the lake prior to the Yellowstone Cutthroat being planted and the fish ranged from 9.6-20.9 inches in length. |
