Directions: | Use the Papoose Creek Trailhead located off of HWY 287. Take Trail#384 until it crosses with the Middle Fork Sun Creek. Follow the creek to the lake. |
Status of the Fishery: | Lower Dutchman Lake has historically had Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout. Stocking ceased in 1997. FWP last sampled the lake in 2009 and captured one fish that was 17.4 inches in length. Little to no reproduction seems to be occurring in Lower Dutchman, however some reproduction could occur in the inlet to Upper Dutchman and spillover into the Lower Lake. This lake could be barren. |
