Cottonwood Lake is part of the Big Sheep Creek Drainage in the Beaverhead Mountains. This remote lake is found at the very top end of Cottonwood Creek and is near the Continental Divide.

| Status of the Fishery: | Cottonwood Lake has not been stocked and is believed to be fishless. Future sampling will decide if the lake can support fish and should be stocked. |
