Where to Fish Martes Lake

Martes Lake Martes Lake

Martes produces large fish. First CT plant '69, then '79. Stock every eight years to maintain the trophy fishery. We cut the numbers of the '95 plant to 50/acre to boost growth rates. Jack robertson reports 1.5 - 2.5 lb CT's in 1990. No longer trophies in 1994, 7 year olds are 15" long. Dave Fischer reports slow fishing for 12-13" CT's in 1999. '02 fish were 'big and fat'. Very little use.
