McKelvey Lake is a popular alpine lake located in the North Meadow Creek drainage in the Tobacco Root Mountains.

| Directions: | Take the South Meadow Creek County Road#29 to North Meadow Creek Road#31 from HWY 287 near McAllister. At the forest boundary the county road changes to FR#160, then take FR#965 until it ends and proceed on foot using the Trail#360 to Trail#338 towards the lake. |
| Status of the Fishery: | This lake contains Westslope Cutthroat Trout and is on a four-year stocking cycle. The last plant occurred in 2022. The plant was switched from Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout to Westslope Cutthroat in 2006. FWP last sampled this lake in 1998 and the fish ranged from 8.0-11.5 inches in length. |
