Fishing Report for the week of 09/28/2026
Snagging has been going well, and anglers are seeing larger fish this year. The snagging season for Kokanee Salmon opened on September 1st and will run through October 31st. Limits are 35 salmon daily with 70 in possession.

| Status of the Fishery: | Kokanee salmon can be found year-round. Most winter anglers seek out a depth of 25-45 feet of water. Winter angler have success using Swedish Pimple’s or Hali Jigs tipped with maggots fishing at about 20 feet of water. Summer anglers use flashers or dodgers to target kokanee at depths ranging from 15 to 25 feet of water. This 500-acre body of water is located on the eastern edge of the Helena Valley just off York Road and anglers access the the waterbody at the lone boat ramp on the reservoir. Safe ice depths are typically present annually from January to late February. |
