Rock Lake

Rock Lake sits above timberline, is mostly talus rock and is the largest lake in the Crazy Mountains. It is the only lake in the Crazy Mountains that has a significant island at full pool. The lake is managed as a Yellowstone cutthroat trout fishery.

Elevation:	8800.24 ft
Directions:	Rock Lake sits at the headwaters of Rock Creek. Follow the maintained trail up Rock Creek.
Status of the Fishery:	The lake was sampled in 2014. Yellowstone cutthroat trout were the only species present. The average size of the fish was 12.5 inches. There was a large sheet of ice still floating in lake during the 7/23/2014 survey.
