Directions: | This lake can be accessed by the either the Hell Roaring TH or Spanish Creek Trailhead, both located off of HWY 191 south of Gallatin Gateway. Another access point is from Bear Basin near Big Sky. |
Status of the Fishery: | Thompson Lake supports a wild Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout fishery. FWP sampled the lake in 2011 and the fish ranged from 7.5-14.1 inches. Both the inlet and out provide spawning potential and the lake supports natural reproduction. |
