Status of the Fishery:	Arctic Grayling population data from the early-1980s show that Rock Creek (a tributary to the Big Hole River near Wisdom, MT) was once an important spawning tributary for Arctic Grayling. In the mid-1980s the entire Creek was re-routed and captured in a large irrigation ditch making this tributary disconnected from the Big Hole River. In 2006, large scale restoration projects began with the goal of returning Rock Creek in to Grayling spawning tributary. Over the last 10 years, Rock Creek was 1) reconnected to the Big Hole River; 2) protected by over 7 miles of riparian fencing; 3) improved riparian habitat through 3 grazing management plans; 4) 5 fish ladders were installed to increase fish passage; 5) several new headgates, measuring devices and diversions were installed to increase irrigation efficiency and improve instream flows; 6) a fish screen was installed to reduce entrainment in irrigation ditches; and 7) an instream flow agreement was initiated with the private landowners and water users on Rock Creek. The combined efforts have resulted in the once disconnected and non-functioning tributary to the Big Hole River becoming a sustainable fishery.
